Laboratory Technologist

We are a company with a clinical focus, and a strong research component, dedicated to improving patient healthcare, located in Ventura, CA.

We are looking for a highly motivated person to work in a CLIA certified laboratory, focused on Next-Generation Sequencing of human-derived samples. MUST HAVE NGS EXPERIENCE.

Minimum required qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Biology or a related area

  • Current California clinical laboratory scientist (CLS) license

  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical molecular analysis or research lab

  • Demonstrated molecular biology lab techniques

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Be able to work independently, but also follow instructions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extraction of DNA/RNA from human samples

  • Set up of molecular assays (PCR, qPCR, etc)

  • Quality testing of reagents and maintenance of instrumentation

  • Reporting laboratory test results

  • Review and implement technical instructions and standard operating procedures

  • Run NGS instruments (Illumina NextSeq/MiSeq)

  • Other duties may be assigned
